Over almost thirteen years we have been able to play a small part of the lives of local residents, friends and visitors, and have also helped to build up our town.

During this time we have carried out numerous activities for the enjoyment and satisfaction of local residents, visitors and ourselves. We have, along with the town council and other associations, been involved in the Festivities Commission in order to organise the different festivities held in our town.
The festivities in which the association participates and collaborates are:
- THURSDAY FOR EVERYBODY
- SAN PRUDENCIO
- SANTA ISABEL FESTIVITIES
- SEPTEMBER FESTIVITIES (VIRGEN DE LA PLAZA)
- THANKSGIVING

Over recent years, in addition to collaboration in the festivities mentioned above, the association has organised many trips to cider bars, the last one being to Petritegui in Astigarraga, when a total of 60 people enjoyed the visit to the cider Museum, followed by a tasting and the house menu. We have also collaborated in the organisation of the Frontón Viejo 12 Hour Tournament, which will see its fourth edition held in 2010. We were involved in organising the Txozna of Elciego in the 2009 Pagan Harvest Festival, and also in the Korrika which passed through our town in 2009, with outstanding participation by the people of Elciego.

Most notable of all the activities carried out over these almost thirteen years are the cultural exchange with youngsters from Nemea (Greece), the 2007 Gazte Eguna which was, unfortunately, rained off, and different collaborations with NGOs in the war on famine, disease and regrettable accidental or natural disasters around the world, most recently the earthquakes in Haiti.
From Juvenil Landalan Association we wish to thank all those (local residents, visitors) who have, next to us, done their best to help those most in need.

"SANTA CECILIA" MUSICAL ASSOCIATION

Carrying out a diachronic study, the Municipal Band was founded on 7th December 1884, with 14 instruments, with Cipriano Rosáenz being the first Director. He was succeeded by others such as Eloy Villaverde and Juan Cruz García, who proudly kept up Elciego municipal music. At one point it counted on 33 elements, and was much sought after in neighbouring towns such as Vitoria, Logroño, Nájera, Haro, Miranda de Ebro, etc.
The band suffered the same crisis as felt in the rest of society, almost causing it to disappear. In an effort to conserve it once the municipal subsidy disappeared, a group of musicians formed Santa Cecilia choir, which was independent from the municipal choir. The two choirs were very good: for several years the Municipal Choir was led by Vicente Rivacoba Ibáñez as the Director. It was made up of 25 members, almost all of whom had been trained by him. Santa Cecilia choir, with less elements, was directed for a short time by Juan Cruz García, and then passed on to his son Isidoro until it disappeared.
In 1992 came a miracle with refounding through the "Santa Cecilia" Musical Association, thanks to the veteran musicians, who had music in their veins, and Patricio Armentia, the new President of the current Association, without forgetting Mr Pablo Gallego, the former Director. He was replaced by Jesús Ganchegui, leaving his style and quality both in terms of the music and his personality. His death shortly after was a huge blow to the group. However, his presence left a huge mark, leading to Diego Moreno, the current Director, proposing that they should continue with this musical tradition, which underwent a strong revival.
And nowadays the municipal band still exists in Elciego, comprising old members plus youngsters trained in singing.
It counts on a Music Academy located on the third floor of the Casa de Cultura, and leads the way during festivities with its parades, concerts and rehearsals, playing an important part in the history of Elciego.

ELCIEGO XXI ASSOCIATION

The Association of commerces, wineries and small businesses, Elciego XXI, aims to promote the economic activity of all its members. To this end it carries out different activities throughout the year, most notably Elciego Wine Seminar. This seminar is held every year, promoting the wines from the town in a fun and entertaining way.
